Place your empanadas in an airtight container or sealed plastic bag. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For best results, consume within 2 days for optimal freshness and texture.
Yes! Empanadas freeze beautifully. Place them in an airtight freezer-safe container or freezer bag (remove as much air as possible). They will keep for up to 3 months. Label with the date for easy tracking.
For best results, thaw empanadas in the refrigerator overnight before reheating using any of the methods above. If reheating directly from frozen, add 5-7 minutes to the oven baking time (approximately 15-19 minutes total at 375°F). We do not recommend microwaving, as this can make the dough soggy.
While possible, we do not recommend microwaving empanadas as it can result in a soggy texture. If you must use a microwave, place an empanada on a microwave-safe plate and heat for 30-45 seconds at 50% power. Oven or air fryer methods will always produce superior results.
Empanadas should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. For food safety, refrigerate or freeze promptly after purchase or preparation.
